India with a population of 127 Billion gets more than 3 Million burn injuries every year; out of which 100,000 succumb to the injuries. To treat such a large number of burns, we have only 60 modern burn units, which are quite inadequate. The situation is worse in the North Eastern region, where burn care facilities are still far from adequate.

Burn Care Foundation, a trust formed in 2003 under the banner of NEMCARE Hospital Guwahati has the vision of decreasing enormous suffering, death and disabilities caused by burn injuries and to give every burn patient access to the highest standard of burn care. We believe that all burn patients can be provided with good quality care despite limited resources. We also believe in building a regional multidisciplinary network of highly motivated and expert medical volunteers to deliver high quality training and education in burns.
